Cookie Policy

The cookies and device storage archr uses, what each is for, and how to control them.

Last updated 2 October 2026

The short version

archr uses only the cookies and device storage it needs to run the service you asked for, plus a few settings that remember choices you made yourself. archr does not use advertising cookies, analytics or tracking cookies, and does not let third parties track you across sites.

Because of that, archr does not show a cookie consent banner: consent is only required for cookies that are not strictly necessary or user-requested, and archr sets none. If that ever changes, this policy will be updated and consent will be asked for before any such cookie is set.

Cookies

Essential cookies are needed for a feature you requested, such as staying signed in. Preference cookies remember a setting you chose and are only set once you make that choice, such as picking a colour profile or closing the welcome-back message. A first visit sets no preference cookie.

Device storage

archr also saves data in your browser's local storage and session storage. This works like a cookie but is not sent to archr with each request. It lets you keep scoring without a connection and lets the app remember your settings.

    Purpose
Carries you through the password-reset steps in this browser tab (session storage).

Saved drafts and queued scores are held only on your device until they sync. Clearing site data before they sync permanently removes them.

Third-party services

archr does not embed analytics, advertising or social-media tracking scripts. Some features load content from, or send you to, services that receive your IP address and device details when you use them:

  • Cloudinary serves uploaded avatars, scoresheets and images from res.cloudinary.com.
  • Stripe hosts the payment and billing pages you are sent to when you subscribe or manage billing. Stripe sets its own cookies there for security and fraud prevention under its own policies.
  • Klipy provides GIFs when you search for one to add to a comment.
  • Apple and Google handle sign-in and billing inside their app stores for the mobile apps.

See the Privacy Policy for how personal information is handled by these providers.

Managing cookies and storage

You can delete cookies and site data in your browser settings at any time, or block them entirely. Blocking the sign-in cookie means you cannot log in, and clearing site data removes saved drafts and unsynced scores. Your colour profile and accessibility settings can be changed in Settings.

Browser guidance is available at ico.org.uk.
